FEAT Trading CIC is a subsidiary company of Fife Employment Access Trust, a registered charity that supports people with mental health conditions to better self-manage their conditions and prepare for, enter and sustain employment.  We also provide activities to people to help prevent future mental health problems.  The charity and subsidiary company have been working with Fife Council to develop plans to regenerate Silverburn Park.

We plan to develop a campsite within the Park, close to the Fife Coastal Path. This project is one strand of a bigger overall approach to improve the attractiveness of the park, generate more visits from locals and tourists to the area, and create jobs at the park.  The project will also bring economic benefits to this area through having more visitors spending time and money locally.  The need for the project has been assessed rigorously and Fife Council are actively supporting it.

The campsite will provide a much-needed facility for people travelling the Coastal Path and the local cycle route, both of which pass by next to the boundary of the park.  It will foreshadow and complement our longer-term plans to create a hostel within what is currently a disused flax mill.  There will be 12 pitches for tents, 3 for eco-lodges and 4 spaces for motorhomes.  This facility will encourage people to break their journey in Levenmouth – we don’t envisage it being a destination for a holiday in its own right – and this will generate more activity locally, with consequent benefits for other businesses.
