  • Do you have shower facilities?

Yes, we have brand new toilet & shower facilities on site with 3 separate units including one disabled accessible.

  • Can we invite guests during the day?

Silverburn Campsite and the wider Park is intended as a place for guests & the local community alike to relax and enjoy nature. To avoid over-crowding and noise each booking can have a maximum of 2 guests to visit during the day. All non-campsite residents should leave by 10pm.

  • Can we play music on site?

You can play music but we ask that you keep it low in order to respect your neighbours. There should be NO MUSIC at all during quiet hours; 10pm onwards.

  • What are your check-in & check-out times?

Check-in is between 2pm-4pm.  If you think you are going to arrive after 4pm, please refer to the 'pre-arrival' email you will recieve 2 days before booking for details.  Check-out is 10:30am for our eco-pods, and 12 noon for campervan and tent pitches.

  • Is the campsite staffed 24 hours?

No, but we provide access by emergency telephone to a member of staff 24/7.

  • Do you have entertainment?

No. We're not a holiday park, our aim is to provide a space where you can enjoy the view and nature at its best. Occasionally we have events based in the park and will advertise these through our website and social media pages.

  • Is the campsite accessible for people with restricted mobility?

We are working towards making the campsite fully accessible.  We have one wheelchair-accessible pod, Broc, and our toilet and shower block has a wheelchair-accessible unit plus a wheelchair-friendly ramp.  There is no vehicular access within the campsite perimeter, but we do have one disabled parking space just next to the main campsite gate, around 20m from the wheelchair-friendly pod.  We are still working on making the main campsite path wheelchair-friendly so please bear with us while we get this done.  Please contact us if you require any additional information - 01333 422418.

  • Can I arrive after 4pm without a booking?

Campervans and tent campers are welcome to turn up after 4pm and see if we have any availability - we display this each evening from 4pm on the front door of reception at Cottage No 3 in the park – but obviously there are no guarantees! If you do take a pitch, please make payment in the morning at reception. Our eco-pods must be booked in advance.

  • Can we park on our pitch?

I'm afraid there is no vehicle access on to the campsite itself. When you arrive you can drive to the gate and unload your belongings but once you are all set up we do ask that you return your vehicle to our car park.

  • Do you accept Vehicles with roof-tents?

Yes we do. We ask you book a campervan pitch for these typs of vehicles.

Eco Pod Questions

Our pods can sleep up to four people. Each pod has a standard double bed, and a sofa bed which pulls down into a small double.

  • Can we bring our dog?

Yes, we are a dog-friendly site. Currently though we only have 1 dog-friendly eco-pod which is named "Sionnach". Please make sure to book this pod if you are planning on bringing your dog.

Please note: There is a £10 fee for dogs which must be selected in "add-ons" when booking.

  • Do you offer bedding?

No, sorry, not at this time. All pods will have a mattress protector, but please bring your own bedding and pillows.

  • Can I park my car next to our pod?

No, sorry - cars are not permitted on the camping ground but you are welcome to unload by the site and then return the car to the main car park.

  • How many eco pods do you have?

We currently have 3 Eco Pods, we hope to increase our numbers over time.

One of our pods is wheelchair-accessible; it is slightly wider overall and has a wheelchair-friendly ramp for access.  There is no vehicle access inside the campsite perimeter, but we do have one space for disabled parking next to the main gate, about 20 metres from the pod.  Please be aware that we are still working on making the main path through the campsite wheelchair-friendly - we hope to have this done very soon.  Please select 'Broc' when booking.

  • Can I smoke in the eco-pods?

No, smoking is prohibited in the pods.

Camping Questions

  • What size are your tent pitches?

Our tent pitches are 6x6m, and all run adjacent to one another. If your tent cannot fit within these parameters, you are required to book two pitches adjacent to one another please. To do this, please enter your booking for one pitch, then you will be asked if you wish to make another booking. Simply click 'yes' and you can book the second pitch.

  • Do you have pitches with electrical hook-up?

Yes, we have electric hook-up points available for tent pitches 1-4.

  • Can I park my car next to my pitch?

No, sorry - cars are not permitted on the camping ground but you are welcome to unload by the site and then return the car to the main car park.

  • Can I have a BBQ at my pitch?

Yes, we don't mind, as long as you don't damage our grass so please make sure to keep your disposable BBQ's raised off the ground.

  • Can I bring my dog?

Yes, we are a dog friendly site. Just be sure to pick up after them :)

  • What are your check-in & check-out times?

Check-in is between 2pm-4pm. If you think you are going to arrive after 4pm, please refer to the 'pre-arrival' email you will recieve 2 days before booking for details. Check-out is 12 noon for tent pitches.

  • Can I pitch more than one tent on my pitch?

No, sorry, our policy is one tent per pitch, to help avoid large groups and overcrowding.  Please book adjacent pitches if you are coming with friends.  To do this, first check availability for two adjacent pitch numbers.  Then book the first pitch in the system; just before you come to the payment stage you will be asked if you'd like to make another booking. Simply click 'yes' here and add your second pitch into the booking.  Please give us a call on 01333 422418 if you experience any problems.
