Landward Comes to Silverburn!

On Wednesday 28th April, BBC Landward were filming at Silverburn. Landward is BBC Scotland's farming and countryside programme. Our Chairman, Brian Robertson, an ex-military man himself found a lot to chat about with host and ex Royal Marine J.J. Chalmers who you may know from Strictly Come Dancing or as an Invictus Games Medalist.

Chalmers, who lives in Fife, was thrilled to discover the beauty and charm of Silverburn Park. You can now wartch the episode on
BBC iPlayer!

Beechgrove Garden from Silverburn Park
The BBC just love Silverburn, it seems! Look out for Beechgrove Garden filming from the Park this summer, featuring community allotment holder Calum Clunie. Calum is a regular on the show and takes viewers on his journey through his allotment season from seed to show.

Calum is excited to get growing: "I've watched Beechgrove for as long as I can remember and I can't believe me and my wee allotment are now a part of the team" he told Fife Today. We are thrilled to have a local celebrity sharing the park with us!

Silverburn Through the Ages
Cecilia and Iona Russell were ecstatic to finally receive their copies of 'Silverburn Through The Ages' with Cecilia stating "I cannot express how delighted I am to see this in print. My father and grandfather would be so very proud and grateful to you all."

You can still pick up a copy of your own for £5 at the Cottage Window Café or request to receive by post by emailing info@silverburnpark.co.uk. All proceeds go towards the Flax Mill restoration project.

Defribrillator Installed at Silverburn

We have been donated a defibrillator by the Rotary Club of Leven! It is installed beside the Cottage Window Café and is now operational for any emergencies taking place in the park or in the local area.

The defibrillator also means that we are eligible to become a Park Run venue in the future (when they re-open) so watch this space! A massive thank you to the Rotary Club of Leven for fundraising this valuable life-saving equipment for us.

Campsite Re-opens For The Summer!

The winter is finally over and with CV19 restrictions easing the campsite officially re-opened on April 26th! Campers from all across Scotland desperate to get out came along and the place was bursting with smiles and happy families!

Our Eco-pods are fully booked every weekend until the autumn, but there are still plenty of mid-week dates and tent pitches available throughout. Make sure to book your stay to avoid disappointment!

Silverburn Through The Ages Launches!
We are thrilled to have launched the publication of the book ‘Silverburn Through the Ages’ written by St Andrew's university graduate Amber Ward. This amazing booklet details the rarely seen and truly diverse history of Silverburn Park in full glossy colour print!

These can be bought either from the Cottage Window Café for £5 or by emailing info@silverburnpark.co.uk. Delivery can also be arranged. All money raised goes towards the Silverburn Flax Mill Project, for which we still need to raise £2.5 million to renovate the derelict building into a Visitor Centre and Community Hub!

New Funding For Silverburn Pond!

The Friends of Silverburn Park have been working hard to regenerate the pond area and have been making great progress, with plans to clear the overgrowth, skim the duckweed, create a dipping platform and build an earth built wildlife hide!

In addition to funding from The National Lottery and Fife Council, Glen Housing Association have also just awarded £500 towards the project. You can learn more about the project and get in touch about volunteering with the restoration by clicking

Our Vision For The Future on Display!
We are proud to show off the latest addition to the Park - interpretation boards facing the Flax Mill that share some of the history of the mill and the Park, as well our vision for the future! A huge thanks to the team at
Coalfields Worx who built and installed the frame for the boards using recycled timber. They now head back to Kincardine to continue their community improvements in West Fife thanks to the ongoing support of the Coalfields Regeneration Trust - Scotland.

You can help us get closer to this dream by supporting our crowdfunder clicking here. Thanks to all our supporters to date!

Better Outside
Fife Employment Accessibility Trust (FEAT) have adapted their long running “Employ Your Mind” to run fully outdoors in 2021 with the launch of the Grow Your Mind project at Silverburn Park. FEAT saw the value of outside space to help deliver training and support, and as part of the Grow Your Mind project, looked at steps that could be taken to make this a reality during the current climate.

3D Flax Mill Designs Unveiled

Merry Christmas from Silverburn Park!

Despite the extraordinary challenges that 2020 has thrown at us all, we are proud to be celebrating so many positives as the year draws to a close. Silverburn Park welcomed almost 200,000 visitors, blowing away previous expectations, and the regeneration of the woodlands and the look of the park is continually improving. We could not do it on our own.

The Cottage Window Café has been busy serving tasty takeaway treats, and our campsite is now established, providing scenic getaways for both tourists and locals!

We have begun our exciting multi-million pound restoration of Silverburn's historic Flax Mill, and we are still fundraising to reach our £200,000 crowdfund target by next summer. You can get involved by supporting our
"buy a brick" campaign or making a donation.

We hope to see some of you at our Lantern Installation on January 16th - 18th, government restrictions depending, remember all lanterns must be returned by 9th January! Follow us on Facebook to keep up with the latest!

The team would like to thank everyone who has continued to support the work of FEAT and Silverburn Park throughout 2020. We wish you a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Please note all our services and offices will be closed from December 22nd to January 7th, Happy Holidays!

Help Save Silverburns Flax Mill by Buying a Brick!

Our new ‘Buy A Brick’ Campaign has now launched, and we hope to raise £1,500 by Christmas towards the re-pointing and renovation of the Flax Mill’s 30,000 iconic red bricks. Many thanks to the people who have supported the campaign already, in memory of a loved-one, or as a unique gift for friends and family who love Silverburn Park.

Lantern Journeys

Volunteers at Silverburn have been hard at work preparing the lantern kits which will be given out to the local community as part of our Lantern Journeys activity programme!

Kits for making lanterns will be available from Silverburn, and distributed to selected local schools, with workshops and online guidance for creating lanterns which will form the basis for an illuminated installation in January. People will be encouraged to decorate their willow-and-paper lanterns with personal reflections of their journey through 2020.

Thank You!
